INTERPRET THE BIBLE PROPERLY

There is merit in understanding the issues the Bible is dealing with. This is so that we are on target with what the Bible is actually saying and not dealing with issues that are not presented, and so missing entirely the nature of the real gospel and falling into the folly of t finding pegs on which to hang a gospel that is ‘no gospel at all’.

KNOW WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY TELLING US
Karl Barth strove to, ‘Understand the Bible “as it understands itself, and indeed in the only way that it can be understood.”’ (1)

It’s possible to string together a series of unrelated scriptures and build a gospel that is not Christ’s gospel. What we then have is some hybrid that is actually a post-cross version of living from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil instead of the tree of life – which is the person of Christ. Keep in mind that cancer cells are small variations on the original pattern. It’s the same with deviant gospels in the Body of Christ.
We all have union with God. This issue is, do you believe and live it? This could mean living the Eucharist instead of restricting it to a rite.
ISSUES
The undergirding theme of the Bible and of Christianity is the trustworthiness of our Father and the reality and sonship of humanity for us in the person of Jesus Christ. The accomplishment of the cross – the at-one-ment -  is the foundation of the incarnation and the incarnation is what makes the new creation kingdom of God a reality in you and in us.
Incarnation lived by the Believer as the person and the church ensures that humanity does not become stuck in the pseudo-life of religion and that, we as sons/daughters become the actual life and expression of God where we are and as who we are.
The Lord’s Table is the celebration of that which already is – Christ our life.
